Green POWWE'R

Green POWWE'R is a project aimed at raising awareness of environmental issues such as recycling, climate change and sustainable consumption. The approach is hands-on: We seek to make a the global challenges more easy to grasp by concentrating on everyday choices and decision that make a difference.

Making Sustainable Choices

Under the project, we run a nature-friendly crafts group modeled after a traditional form of Finnish cooperation - ompeluseura, a sewing circle.

The crafts circle has three main goals. Firstly, to raise money for charity by preparing crafts for sale. Secondly, to raise awareness on how to better utilise second hand materials and promote a sustainable way of life. And thirdly, to provide people from different backgrounds a forum for interaction.

We also organise nature trails and other trips to places where the nature has still remained unspoiled. The objective of these trips is to introduce people to the possibilities nature has to offer and, through this, emphasise the importance of individual choices in keeping our environment clean.
